ABOUT D2D

Dawn to Dusk Chennai Marathon(D2D) – 2019 will be held on Sunday, 3rd February 2019

The primary objective of D2D 2019 is to create awareness on keeping good health through running and cycling and raise funds for the cause. D2D 2019 will support Cancer Institute (WIA), Adyar, for the second year in creating awareness and raising funds for the children affected by cancer towards their treatment and building Children’s General Ward.

D2D has completed 6 editions and has supported various causes especially to help underprivileged children. The primary objective of D2D Marathon is to create awareness on keeping good health through running and cycling and also to raise funds through this event. Every year D2D team supports a cause which in turn helps to raise funds and bring awareness for the cause.

D2D is an initiative by like-minded souls who have come forward to bring awareness towards worthy causes and to raise funds mainly for the deprived children who cannot afford treatment and education.

D2D has also inspired many runners to run and cyclists and to take part for a cause towards supporting the needy children and many charitable organizations. Through running and cycling activities, D2D Marathon has found numberless ways to help and inspired thousands of veteran and first-time runners and cyclist to take part for the cause. D2D aim is to also spread awareness about the cause through this event.

D2D is conceptualized by Neville Endeavours and his team. The D2D is 6 hours of Running & 6 Hours of cycling event with a huge participation of 4,000 – 7,000 participants every year which includes children, adults, runners and cyclists taking part at the event.

Neville along with his team has raised quite a substantial amount INR 2.53 crores till date in the last 6 years through Dawn to Dusk and Dusk to Dawn Night Marathon. These funds have been put to use for the rehabilitation of Cerebral Palsy children and contributing towards the Therasuit, one of its kind in India, also the funds have been used to build new classrooms, toilet blocks for the underprivileged children. The funds that were raised from D2D also used for organ donation and children affected by cancer.

Causes supported by D2D

Various causes supported by D2Dfrom the time of inception 2012 till date and the funds were distributed accordingly:

  • 1ST EDITION, 2012:
    50th Golden year of Round Table India, built classrooms for underprivileged children – 1200 members Participated at IIT CAMPUS and raised INR 7,20,000/-
  • 2ND EDITION, 2013:
    Bal Sanjeevani’ towards treatment of children affected by Cerebral Palsy –2,200 members Participated at IIT CAMPUS and raised INR 50,19,066/-
  • 3RD EDITION, 2014:
    Bal Sanjeevani’ towards treatment of children affected by Cerebral Palsy – 5,900 members Participated at IIT CAMPUS and raised INR 68,66,011/-
  • 4TH EDITION, 2014:
    Apollo Hospital, CLF towards Liver Transplantation for children – 6,300 members Participated at ISLAND GROUNDS AND MARINA and raised INR 35,75,000/-
  • 5TH EDITION, 2015-16:
    Round Table India, for building toilet blocks for Girl children – 4,500 members Participated at ISLAND GROUNDS AND MARINA and raised INR 51,00,000/-
  • 6TH EDITION, 2018:
    Cancer Institute (WIA), Adyar, for the treatment of cancer affected children – 4,026 members Participated at ANNA UNIVERSITY and raised INR 45,04,822/-
